The RSO is proud to present Link Up: The Orchestra Moves during the 2026–2027 season, a celebrated music education program developed by Carnegie Hall’s Weill Music Institute.

This engaging program is designed for students in grades 3, 4, and 5, and connects classroom music learning with the experience of a live symphony orchestra.

Throughout the school year, students from Regina and surrounding areas will explore an interactive curriculum where they learn to sing and play recorder, guided by their classroom teacher and supported by a teaching artist from the RSO.

The program culminates in a live concert at the Conexus Arts Centre, where the participating students all attend a full orchestral performance featuring the RSO, Conductor Karl Hirzer, and special guests. During the concert, students will perform from their seats, singing and playing along with the orchestra — a truly immersive and inspiring musical experience.

WE LIKE TO MOVE IT!

By any definition, music moves. As organized sound, music moves through time and space from high to low, creating patterns and motifs. Composers and performers use expressive qualities to move us emotionally. Music also compels us to move physically and is embodied in many kinds of dance. Using Orff Schulwerk strategies and complementary creative movement activities, we will discover all the interwoven ways in which the orchestra moves.

THEMES THAT WILL BE EXPLORED
