The RSO presents high quality musical experiences that compel audiences and inspire the public to engage and participate.
To strengthen our community by reaching people from all walks of life through the power of live orchestral music. We evolve and grow the RSO to provide impactful orchestral music experiences across southern Saskatchewan for generations to come.
Who We Are
The Regina Symphony Orchestra (RSO) is a full-scale professional orchestra led by the innovative and exciting Music Director, Gordon Gerrard. All of the RSO musicians are members of the American Federation of Musicians.
During the season, the orchestra rehearses and performs the Classics (formerly Masterworks) series, Pops series and various special performances at our long time home of the Conexus Arts Centre. Added in 2020, the Holy Rosary Cathedral is now home to the Classics at the Cathedral, Chamber at the Cathedral and Baroque series, as well as the location for RSO at Home online concert series recordings. Additional Chamber Music concerts are hosted at Government House and the beloved Handel’s Messiah is held at Knox Met United Church.
The Forward Currents Festival, Free Library Concert Series, school performances and family series are also held during the season.
Through their professional performances, the RSO musicians make a valuable contribution to the cultural fabric of southern Saskatchewan. The musicians live and raise their families in Regina and surrounding areas. However, many musicians pursue a variety of other professions while still maintaining their hectic orchestral schedule.
