The Regina Symphony Orchestra is a participating member of the Access2 Program.

Through the program, people with permanent disabilities who require a support person carry a personalized Access 2 card with them (an authorized healthcare provider certifies the need for an attendant during the application process). The card indicates to the ticket seller that the individual requires the support of an attendant.

Participating venues grant one free admission for the support person while the person with the disability pays their regular admission fee. This helps ensure all individuals receive the support they need to participate fully in entertainment, recreational and cultural opportunities.

Access2 Tickets can be purchased by calling the Box Office at 306-586-9555 and are available for all 2021-2022 RSO Performances.

Regina Symphony Orchestra launches 2021-2022 concert season

REGINA, SASKATCHEWAN: The Regina Symphony Orchestra (RSO) is back this fall for the 113th concert season. The 21/22 season features old favourites, new options, different venues and lower prices. The announcement of the 21/22 concert season is first step to the return to live performance, after the challenges faced during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Things are going to look a little different at the RSO, and I’m truly glad to invite you to join us as we take this opportunity to reinvent ourselves”, says Gordon Gerrard, Music Director for the RSO.  “Last fall, public health restrictions forced us to find ways to make music for you on a smaller scale.   We’ve decided to keep some of our programming at the magnificent Holy Rosary Cathedral, and are looking forward to our return to Conexus Arts Centre.  I’m particularly excited about this season and to share it with our amazing Regina audiences this fall”.

The RSO returns to the Conexus Arts Centre to kick off The Classics series, formerly the Masterworks, on September 25th with the romantic and monumental Romeo & Juliet.  The series will also feature a multi-media experience of Adizokan on November 27th, and the soaring For Earth and Sky featuring guest conductor Tania Miller on March 12, 2022.  The Classics Series will come to an end on May 14, 2022 with the spectacular Thus Spake Zarathustra.

The 21/22 Pops Series will kick off with home-grown, country music star Jess Moskaluke making her orchestral debut on October 16th.  Jeans n’ Classics rock the stage on January 15, 2022 with a tribute to Pink Floyd’s iconic The Wall and Dark Side of the Moon albums. Another Canadian music star pays tribute to a music icon when singer-song writer Sarah Slean performs the music of Joni Mitchell on February 12, 2022.  The Pops season wraps up with flair with drag superstar Thorgy Thor and her Thorcestra on May 7th, 2022.

Conexus Arts Centre will also host the return of the popular RSO Holiday Concert on December 11th, 2021 with festive fun for the whole family, and the joyous sounds of Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony on January 22, 2022.  Both of these concerts are part of the Specials Series, available as single tickets with discounts offered to season ticket holders.

The iconic Holy Rosary Cathedral is now a permanent home for the Regina Symphony, and will be the backdrop for three concert series, including the brand-new, three concert Baroque series.  Experience the dramatic energy of the Baroque creative period with matinee and evening performances on October 9th, February 5th and March 26th, 2022 . The Chamber at the Cathedral Series starts on September 18th followed by performances on December 4th and March 5th, 2022.  The Classics at the Cathedral Series starts on October 1st and 2nd with three performances of Mozart’s Jupiter Symphony, followed by a spotlight on the RSO on November 5th and 6th. The series also features another hometown star Erika Raum on February 25th and 26th, 2022 before closing with a feature from the RSO’s own principal oboe Tamsin Johnston on April 8th and 9th, 2022.

The Regina Symphony Chamber Players will also return to the long-time home of RSO chamber music concerts, Government House, for three concerts starting October 23rd, 2021, followed up on January 29th and April 23, 2022.    Additional concerts and series will be announced in the fall.

Single and season subscriptions are available now for all series and specials performances.  Tickets can be purchased online at www., through the RSO Box Office by calling 306-586-9555 or the Conexus Arts Centre Box Office at 306-525-9999.
